Gathering place: The Dinner al Fresco long table community

Gathering place: The Dinner al Fresco long table community

Dinner al Fresco was created as an annual outdoor gathering for those with a shared passion for food and community, and it would not be what it is without the support of our local partners. Together, they collectively contribute to each event detail from the homegrown florals to the locally distilled spirits to the farmed and foraged menu ingredients to the individual place card illustrations.

Here's who we're proud to be working with.

FERGIE'S CAFE

Serving up one of Squamish's best brunches in town, Fergie's Café is a favourite local dining spots, which recently became cold-weather friendly thanks to the addition of an indoor dining space. In addition to our Dinner al Fresco venue of choice, Fergie's has proven been a great place for weekly meetups and our most recent local talk.

GILLESPIE'S FINE SPIRITS

Kelly Ann Woods is a killer award-winning mixologist and we are lucky to have this self-proclaimed booze witch in town. Not only has she come to the rescue in the form of freshly mixed cocktails at our long table event, Kelly has also created and served cocktails at Refresh using her own line of Gillespie's Fine Spirits and locally sourced ingredients.

OH THE SWEET THINGS

Local illustrator Natasshia Neary of Squamish-based oh the sweet things is the talent behind our menus, hand-drawn place cards (we kept ours!) and welcome sign that you'll find at any Refresh Market event. No doubt, she can make a keepsake out of anything, even a grocery list.

A FOX IN THE FLOWERS

Erin Urton a.k.a. a fox in the flowers is the local grower, floral designer and mood setter whose floral details will blanket the evening. She has embraced our wild flower and we dig her carefree, organic approach to floral growing, gathering and design.

BUNGALOW 968

Bungalow 968 founder Meg Maclure has an incredible vintage inventory, some items of which have been in her family for decades. We love the warmth, character and comfort that her pieces bring to our events.

BEST COAST CHRISTMAS LIGHTS

Best Coast Christmas Lights' Brett Easton practically swung from trees to light up last year's long table dinner and the installation was so impressive that some of it was just too good to take down.

XOCO WESTCOAST CHOCOLATIERS

Local chocolatier Kevin Young of Downtown Squamish's Xoco Westcoast Chocolatiers will see to it that our Diner al Fresco guests stop, savour and indulge beautiful locally made chocolate..

OH LOVELY DEER

We chose to source our table linens locally through longtime stylist Shelley Jacobson of Oh Lovely Deer who has an extensive decor rental selection for weddings and events (she offers full packages, too).

Special thanks to The Squamish Chief newspaper for including us in their print issue, to Tara O'Grady Photo who will be documenting the evening, to Andrew Phelan and Stephanie Chatman for the evening's live music soundtrack and for DJ Sean Kozak who will be playing a few tunes in between.
